About Us

D&M Farm Kennel is dedicated to breeding the finest quality, sweet-tempered rough-coated traditional classic Chinese Chow Chows at a very reasonable price. We take great pride in the feedback received from clientele that our puppies have grown up to be very socially sound and friendly adult dogs. This provides us with the necessary incentive to continue breeding these beautiful, loyal and devoted dogs.

All of our adult dogs are very socialized. They have large yard areas to run and play. We encourage interaction by visitors so they are very accepting of contact with a diverse public. We believe the trust of our bitches translates into easily socialized puppies. The puppies are handled (imprinted) from the day they are born. We strongly feel this “imprinting” makes them very trusting of humans and they respond by wanting to please.

We specifically breed for the AKC standard conformation Chow with a broad, medium length nose, soft clear eyes, strong legs (not stubby nor too long), and we especially breed for temperament. Not one of our dogs is aggressive towards humans and we want our puppies to be the same way.

Our goal is to maintain breeding Chows that represent all 5 basic Chow colors … 3 dominant colors of red, black, & cream, and 2 dilute colors of cinnamon & blue. Thereby, we can provide puppies to meet your specific color preference. We have litters born throughout the year, so please call to ascertain availability. You are also strongly encouraged to join our private Facebook group, “Our D&M Chow Chows” for current happenings, births & availability at D&M Farm Kennel.  This is a closed group for those who own one of our Chows or are on our waiting list for a puppy.

Located in Southwestern Ohio

Our mini-farm is located in southwestern Ohio. It is in Bath Township, Greene County, Ohio, which is located between Dayton and Springfield. It is 6 miles east of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Our farm is comprised of 5.36 acres and we utilize 3 adjoining acres. Our Chows all have large fenced-in shaded yard areas, enabling them to have plenty of room to run. We built a heated kennel in 2004 and expanded it during the summer of 2005 and again in 2007 & 2009. We continue to make improvements to our kennel. We take a great deal of pride in our kennel operation and are very proud of our business professionalism. Our dogs, who we consider members of our family, get the best of care and lots of love and attention. Their health and welfare is our primary concern.

We love all animals and have quite a menagerie. In addition to our chows, we have a German Shepherd, a Collie, two horses … Morgan & Haflinger,  barn cats, chickens, turkeys, geese, guineas, and peacocks. We also have an African Grey parrot named Mr. Bud. The non-chow dogs and those Chows in retirement, run in a pack in a very large yard area surrounding our gated property.  The horses are used for trail riding and pulling a carriage & cart. The horses provide buggy rides for our grandchildren and guests. We get a lot of enjoyment from all of our animals. Darrell also keeps all the bird feeders full so we have many pretty birds that visit our farm on a regular basis. We continue to receive many wonderful compliments about our farm.
